  This car was classified as stock by USAC and had Pontiac's high-performance 421 cubic inch twin four-barrel carburetor engine. The engine had a bore of 4.093 inches and a stroke of 4.000 inches. Its compression ratio was 11.00-to-1 and it had a horsepower rating of 405. Wrapped in protective clothing from head to foot Mickey strapped himself behind the wheel and set off down the 13,000 foot runway. Minutes later he had established four new National USAC Class B Closed Car Division records, two of them never before entered on USAC's books!
